The Novel

Alan T. Walker is an impoverished 37-year-old writer, bachelor and wannabe novelist. He majored in Journalism at the university, but his aspirations are to become a novelist, a goal that has eluded him on a long hard road of rejection. He lives alone in a tiny apartment in the rain belt of the nation, which some people called Portland, Oregon. Following graduation, unable to find a job to his liking, he decided to pursue his ultimate passion, writing. Now, years later, he is still trying to become an author, without success. Walker has minimal income, but survives under his elderly parents financial umbrella. For the last several years they complain he should get a wife and a job. His feeble excuse: “Mom, I’m busy working on several projects.”
